Assessment Options and Costs

Non Standardised Assessments

Not all children benefit from or are able to take part in a standardised assessment. Therefore, a non-standardised assessment can take place. This a flexible and informal assessment that can be conducted to see where a child’s strengths and abilities are, as well as highlighting areas of challenges and difficulty. Non-standardised assessment can measure a child’s skills and progress, but they do not compare them to a group of peers the same age.

Evaluation in Ayes Sensory Integration (EASI) Assessment

The purpose of the EASI assessment is to provide a valid and reliable set of tests for assessing key sensory integration functions that underlie learning, behaviour and participation. The EASI measures sensory perception, postural/ocular/bilateral motor integration, praxis and sensory reactivity.

Movement Assessment Battery for Children (Movement- ABC) 3rd Edition

This assessment provides an objective measure of the child’s fine and gross motor coordination skills, and is a recognised assessment for the potential diagnosis of Development Coordination Disorder (DCD)/Dyspraxia.

Beery-Buktenica Developmental Test of Visual-Motor Integration (VMI) 6th Edition

Internationally respected and backed by decades of research and clinical use, the VMI helps assess the extent to which a child can integrate their visual and motor abilities (hand-eye coordination)

Sensory profile (Winnie Dunn)

The Sensory Profile is a widely used assessment tool designed to evaluate sensory processing patterns in children, adolescents, and toddlers, as well as to gather insights from caregivers. By identifying how individuals respond to sensory stimuli in daily life, it helps those supporting the child understand sensory sensitivities, seeking behaviors, and avoidance patterns, guiding interventions to support optimal engagement, development, and participation.

Motor-Free Visual Perception Test (MVPT-4)

The Motor-Free Visual Perception Test (MVPT-4) is the most recent revision of the only non-motor visual perceptual assessment that can be used throughout the lifespan. The MVPT-4 provides a quick, reliable, and valid measure of overall visual perceptual ability in children and adults.
