Welcome to Occupational Therapy Edinburgh
I am Rachel Moyes, a Specialist Occupational Therapist providing support for children and families in Edinburgh and surrounding areas working exclusively with children and young people. I am member of The Royal College of Occupational Therapist (RCOT) with an Honours degree in Occupational Therapy and registered with the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC).
I strongly believe that you and your child should be at the centre of the therapy journey, with supports tailored and directed according to the unique needs of each family. My main area of expertise is in treating and supporting children with a diagnosis of autism of spectrum disorder as well as those with neurodiversity and/or not meeting their developmental milestones. I take a neuro-affirming approach with all children. The idea behind this approach is that neurodivergent conditions such as; ADHD, Autism, Dyslexia, and others are all variations in how we experience the world, and this should be fully accepted and embraced.
I help children grow in confidence, independence, and joy one playful moment at a time.
I fully understand how children grow, learn, and engage with their world. I assess and support development across key areas like motor skills, emotional regulation, attention, sensory processing, and social interaction.
Children learn best through play—and that’s exactly how I work. My sessions are fun, engaging, and built around a child’s interests. While it might look like play, every activity is carefully designed to support meaningful developmental goals.
You are the expert on your child. I partner closely with parents, caregivers, and educators to ensure progress happens not just in the clinic, but at home and in school, too. Together, we build a circle of support.
